"The second oldest storey building in Nigeria, St James Anglican Church, Ota, now in present-day Ogun State. Though construction started in 1842, the second storey came later in 1846, making it 177 years old. 
It was in this building that Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther translated four books of the New Testament into Yoruba in 1852 and then the entire Bible into Yoruba, which he completed in 1884.

"This is Sacred Heart Hospital, Abeokuta, the first hospital built in Nigeria. It was funded by the Catholic Church through the Society of African Missions, also known as the SMA Fathers. It was conceived and constructed by Reverend Father Jean-Marie Coquard, who finished construction in 1895. He was able to beat Lagos colony by about a year. The second oldest hospital in Nigeria was the African Hospital, now known as General Hospital, Lagos Island.
