DO NOT MOCK THAT PERSON
"It is in human nature to mock people. What the mockers don’t realize is that God has different ways of raising his generals.
I was in the same church in the UK for 15 years and the church knew my wife and two children are British citizens. Then, the immigration authorities arrested, detained me, and tried to deport me after I reported to their office for 7 years.
Trust some church folks, there was nothing they did not say about me. They mocked me to no end. When I came out of detention, I was so angry but I quickly let the anger go.
That same problem they were mocking me about made me ‘rich’ and important in society today. It was God’s way of lifting me. Those mocking me then have been watching me on television for the past 19 years using my experience to liberate people.
That person you are mocking will surprise you because God has not finished with him. Mind your business."-Dele Olawanle's post on X-platform (2023).

Inspirational Quotes From Social Media, #19.

80.
St James Anglican Church, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria.
"The second oldest storey building in Nigeria, St James Anglican Church, Ota, now in present-day Ogun State. Though construction started in 1842, the second storey came later in 1846, making it 177 years old.
It was in this building that Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther translated four books of the New Testament into Yoruba in 1852 and then the entire Bible into Yoruba, which he completed in 1884.
Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther was a significant influence on the English missionary Thomas John Dennis, who translated The Bible into Igbo for the first time in 1913 using material from the book, 'Vocabulary of the Ibo Language', published in 1882 by Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther." -Reno Omokri's post on X-platform (2023).

81.
The first storey building in Nigeria.
"The first storey building in Nigeria. Built in 1845 at Badagry, in today's Lagos State. It is 178 years old and still in pristine condition." -Reno Omokri's post on X-platform (2023).

82.
The Sacred Heart Hospital, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
"This is Sacred Heart Hospital, Abeokuta, the first hospital built in Nigeria. It was funded by the Catholic Church through the Society of African Missions, also known as the SMA Fathers. It was conceived and constructed by Reverend Father Jean-Marie Coquard, who finished construction in 1895. He was able to beat Lagos colony by about a year. The second oldest hospital in Nigeria was the African Hospital, now known as General Hospital, Lagos Island. It was built a year after Sacred Heart Hospital, though some Lagosians argue that it was built in 1893, but records in the FCO in London, date it eleven months after Sacred Heart Hospital." -Reno Omokri's post on X-platform (2023).

Inspirational Quotes From Social Media, #18.

79.
"POOR SALARIES IN ACADEMIA: TRY THESE OPTIONS"

"1. Academics can organise themselves into multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research groups and apply for grants. From the grants, they can get paid for the extra hours they put in the project. To access foreign grants, they can collaborate with colleagues who are teaching in Euro-American universities to do Africa based research. There are tonnes of money for doing research in Africa to address global challenges such as climate change, energy crises, gender issues, migration, environmental degradation, sustainable development, peace and conflict management, biodiversity conservation, anthropology, history, and cultural studies etc. Academics can leverage their international publications and conference attendance to create networks and partnerships. A single publication that is widely read and cited can open many doors for collaborative research, that is why publishing with impact is necessary.
2. Consulting: Academics are thinkers and problem solvers in their chosen fields of study. They are equipped with in-demand ideas, methods, policy administration, monitoring and evaluation knowledges that companies, governments, individuals, and non profit organisations are looking for. Through their publications, they can demonstrate deep analytical skills to offer solutions to many problems that clients need. They can use university consulting platforms or registered private companies to offer those services for lucrative fees. I did a similar thing with ABUCONS and was able to get a World Bank consulting project that was equivalent to my net salary for years. Just make sure what you are teaching and publishing has a real world application and find a way to speak to a potential network of clients.
3. Sell an online course: there are many platforms for creating and selling online courses that academics can utilise. Platforms like Thinkific, Teachable, Udemy etc have easy to learn and deploy procedures for selling online courses, and course developers can charge fees ranging from 5-200 USD per user. Check out YouTube and see how people with zero degrees are making hundreds of thousands of dollars from Udemy. For example, Phil Ebiner has over 2 million students on Udemy and has sold courses worth over 500,000 USD since 2015.
4. Private practice: several academic skills like medicine, pharmacy, law, and veterinary medicine can be used to run a private practice. After teaching hours, academics can run their personal businesses by attending to clients at home or from their personal offices if they can afford to rent a place. A lot of people have made money doing just that.
5. Move out: if academia doesn't pay good money, they have the options to quit and move out. There are several opportunities for people with research and analytical thinking skills in the industry and development organisations. The working condition is conducive and the pay is excellent. Others who want to continue teaching can find jobs abroad. Websites like www.jobs.ac.uk are places where academic jobs are published regularly for those who want to move to the UK. Also, www.indeed.com have variety of foreign jobs for academics and professionals. There is no point sticking to a job that is frustrating while you have options.
There are many ways our academics can supplement their meagre salaries if they actually want to do something about it. If your discipline is not selling, learn something else that sells. If you dont know any potential clients, partner with someone who does. If you dont have a business or grant application experience, learn from friends and colleagues. There is no excuse. The worst thing that will happen to an educated person is to accept whatever life throws at him. Education is a tool for personal liberation, and our teachers must learn how to use it to navigate their poor remuneration and neglect. Waiting and calling for the government to do something is an old strategy that has failed!"-Anonymous author.

Inspirational Quotes From Social Media, #16.

75.
"UK Immigration Changes"
"For years, it has been difficult to bring in a spouse from abroad for many people settled in the UK as they were to earn a minimum of £18600 per annum.
Today, the government announced that people already in Britain wanting to bring loved ones on a family visa will need to earn £38,700, up from £18,600 in the first increase since 2012. That is more than double the present amount.
So, you must ‘buy home-made goods’ by marrying locally.
Surely, there will be legal challenges. It is an inhumane immigration policy that will separate families and deprive many children of their parents
How many people are earning £38000 in the UK at the moment? It is an irrational increase that shows that Rishi Shunak who is very rich and the newly appointed Home Secretary are unaware of what is happening to common people in the society.
The government announced that the employers should source for workers locally but how many British citizens are willing to work in the care industry?" -Dele Olawanle's post on X-platform (2023).

76.
"ONE GREAT WAY TO RAISE YOUR CHILDREN IN THE WESTERN WORLD."
"If you live in the Western world, one of the best ways to raise your children is to make sure they are in the Lord and it starts with you. If your spiritual life is not strong and you don’t have time for church, do not be surprised if they go astray.
Children will respond to the words they hear regularly. Some of the children in our church under 14 do stop me to remind me of my messages. I am always shocked. What if they were not there?
God and the devil are battling to redeem and destroy souls respectively. It is a constant battle. Keep them in church. The church is not perfect, I agree, but where would you rather have these innocent and vulnerable children?
I am in the criminal justice system in the UK and a lot of the children got into trouble when their parents stopped going to church. They had issues with the pastor and the church. That was it, no more church as if it was the pastor that died for them.
I was in court in London a few years back and a young African aged 16 said he wanted to change his sex and does not want to see his parents ever again. He said, “You got me into this when you started moving from church to church until we stopped going to church. You were always looking for prophecy”. There you are. Your irresponsibility can mess up your children’s life
You are always working and always making money but you are losing the fire of the Holy Ghost little by little. Do not wait until it is finally quenched. It won’t be funny.
You need to repent. I know you are usually spiritual on Sunday so I decided to stir up your spirit.
The Lord is waiting for you and your children. You are safe in his hands. What shall it profit a parent if he gains the whole world and loses his children?" -Dele Olawanle's post on X-platform (2023).

Inspirational Quotes From Social Media, #15.

72.
"DO NOT HATE ON THAT PERSON, HE HAS A LIMITED VIEW."

"Do not hate someone because of the way he thinks or sees life.
Everyone sees life one way today and sees it differently tomorrow.
The law Lords in England when asked years ago why they decided one case that way and decided a similar case today differently said “The law continually speaks to us”. That means the law just like life does speaks differently from time to time.
I am today a pastor winning souls but over 40 years ago, I ignorantly argued whilst doing my A Level exams that ‘Jesus was a bastard’ and they gave me good marks. I was ignorant.
I used to frown at people ironing their wife’s dress over 40 years ago but today, I iron my dear wife’s dress though she does not like it. She was always protesting whenever I offered to do it.
As one grows, one will become more ‘educated’ in his worldview. Education and travel make people wiser. The more you read and travel, the more you grow. Many people arguing on social media are inexperienced. Leave them alone.
It is pointless arguing with someone who has always been in one location or his hometown all his life. Save your breath and time. They won’t understand until later. Spend your time on something more productive." -Dele Olawanle's post on X-platform (2023).

73.
"AS YOU GO FORTH:"
*There are two ways to be fooled: one is to believe what is not true; the other is to refuse to accept what is true.*-Anonymous author.

74.
"OPPRESSING VULNERABLE UK IMMIGRANTS"
"An immigrant enters the UK with the right to work or he has lived in the UK for many years before he was given leave to remain. He pays taxes and makes National Insurance contributions.
It is time to renew or extend his leave to remain and he has to pay an immigration health surcharge of £1560 (currently) for either the private life or the family life under the 5-year or 10-year route to settlement. There are other IHS payments for people in other student or work categories.
The unfairness is that they are already paying taxes, are not entitled to public funds, and still have to pay to use the NHS through the ‘oppressive’ Immigration Health Surcharge
The idea of increasing the immigration application fees whenever the government is struggling is taking advantage of vulnerable immigrants. It shows the weakness of this government. It is as if they don’t know what to do next.
On top of that, the government still stigmatized immigrants as liabilities rather than as assets.
I know many British people who have not worked for 20 years and they are not disabled. Why can’t they get them back to work?
I was in Italy over the weekend and an Italian told me that in Italy, if you can work, you must find work. The UK government needs to get many people back to work rather than oppressing vulnerable immigrants. It is unjust." -Dele Olawanle's post on X-platform (2023).
